Yes - David Newton - he's won the accolade of 'British Jazz Awards Best Pianist of the year’ 16 times - he is also a fellow of Leeds College of Music and thus recognised as one of our leading jazz educators in the UK as well as a pianistic supremo. His successes don’t end there, he has worked extensively with playwright Alan Aykbourn; is a founding artist for the LINN record label and has toured the world with some of the world’s most revered jazz musicians including Alan Barnes, Carol Kidd, Marion Montgomery, Annie Ross and Claire Martin. It’s a privilege to have David with us at Woodstock Jazz, where he’ll be on stage with Ben Holder’s drummer Nick Millward and bassist Paul Jefferies.
Andy Panayi Quartet

Andy Panayi is one of those names the jazz industry holds in super high regard. He has a ferociously fine technique, a simply gorgeous sound on all the saxes and flute and he’s one of the most respected players on the circuit. His work has taken him all over the world and he has performed and recorded with greats as diverse as Abdulla Ibrahim (Dollar Brand), Shirley Bassey, Billy Cobham and The Moscow City Ballet! Andy will be performing his interpretations of some of his favourite music alongside a great rhythm section of pianist Tom Berge, bassist Paul Jefferies and drummer Nick Millward.

Ace Jazz guitarist and critically acclaimed singer Denny Ilett, brings a trio of favourite musicians to our Woodstock club to create a wonderfully melodic show. Denny, son of the renowned trumpeter of the same name, has travelled the world as artistic director for singer Lilian Boute, performed Jimi Hendrix shows across Europe and taken his Big Band to Ronnie Scotts and many other great venues. The fabulous Jonathan Taylor plays piano, Paul Jefferies is on bass and Noah Stone keeps tempo and rhythm in check on drums.
